Austrian Postal Savings Bank

Otto Wagner · Vienna, Austria · 1906

Otto Wagner paired a disciplined stone-clad exterior with a light-filled banking hall. Visible fixing details, metal elements and an emphasis on function mark the building’s transition between Viennese decorative culture and the emerging architectural language of the twentieth century. Visiting: The building now houses academic institutions. The former Wagner:Werk museum was no longer open as before in 2025, so check before travelling to see Otto Wagner's glass-roofed banking hall.
