Amorepacific Headquarters

David Chipperfield Architects + HAEAHN Architecture · Seoul, South Korea · 2017

David Chipperfield Architects’ Amorepacific Headquarters is a monumental cubic office building organized around a large central courtyard and three elevated garden voids. A dense vertical brise-soleil wraps the façades, controlling sunlight while giving the enormous volume a consistent depth and rhythm. The building contains offices, cultural facilities and public programs within a highly ordered structural grid, creating a more civic presence than a conventional corporate tower. Architecturally completed in 2017 and occupied soon afterward, it is a major example of contemporary workplace design shaped by climate, urban scale and collective interior space.
