BAPS design team; Virendra Trivedi · Delhi, India · 2005

Delhi's Akshardham presents a large contemporary temple complex through traditional carved stone architecture. The central monument is surrounded by gardens, water and a sequence of visitor spaces. Its combination of craft-intensive construction and modern cultural presentation makes it a distinctive case of recent religious architecture operating at an extensive urban scale. Visiting: Basic temple admission is free. Exhibitions, shows and other attractions can have separate charges and booking requirements.
