Ahsan Manzil

Martin and Company · Dhaka, Bangladesh · 1872

Ahsan Manzil occupies a conspicuous riverside position in historic Dhaka. Its pink façades, central dome and broad stair create a formal palace composition facing the water. The building's later museum use preserves the relationship between ceremonial rooms, river trade and the urban life of the former nawabi capital. Visiting: Entry is ticketed; the pink facade is best seen from the Buriganga riverfront.
