79 & Park Residences is a terraced residential block in Stockholm that combines the logic of a courtyard building with the stepping profile of a hillside. The project is organized as a pixelated landscape of apartments, terraces, and roof gardens, lowering toward the park and rising toward the urban edge. Its cedar-toned facade and planted outdoor spaces give the building a warm, natural character despite its density. The project is a strong example of BIG’s ability to turn housing into an artificial topography, creating more private outdoor space and a softer relationship to the surrounding landscape. It is especially rewarding to view from above or from the adjacent park edges.
