Tamarkin Co. · New York, United States · 2014
Cary Tamarkin’s residential building reworks the industrial loft with large gridded windows, deep masonry openings and terraces. Its exposed architectural character offers a restrained counterpart to the more sculptural buildings nearby. The relationship between window proportions and the High Line’s elevated viewpoint is especially clear. Visiting: Exterior viewing from public streets and the High Line is free. This is a privately used residential building; apartments and amenities are not open for general visits.
