21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa

SANAA · Kanazawa, Japan · 2004

SANAA replaces the traditional frontal museum with a low circular field of galleries entered from multiple directions. Independent white volumes, transparent circulation and courtyards produce an almost urban plan in which visitors constantly shift between art, public activity and views back to Kanazawa.
