100 Eleventh Avenue
Ateliers Jean Nouvel; Beyer Blinder Belle · New York, United States · 2010
Jean Nouvel’s residential tower presents an irregular mosaic of differently oriented glass panels toward the Hudson. The fragmented reflections and deep facade contrasts respond to both the river light and Chelsea’s industrial context. It forms a particularly useful comparison with the neighboring Gehry building. Visiting: Exterior viewing from public streets and the High Line is free. This is a privately used residential building; apartments and amenities are not open for general visits.
